BIOGRAPHY
Dr Siti Rafidah Yusof specialises in blood-brain barrier (BBB) research. Her pioneering BBB research in the country in particular determining the BBB permeability of kratom alkaloids won her Young Investigator Award in 2019 from the Malaysian Society of Neurosciences (MSN). She is currently the Deputy Director of the Centre for Drug Research USM, Vice President of MSN and Co-chair of Basic Neuroscience Council, MSN.
INTERESTS
In vitro cellular barrier models in particular blood-brain barrier (BBB) and blood-intestinal barriers. Mechanisms of BBB and intestinal barrier permeability of molecules. Alterations of the BBB structure and functions in diseases.
