BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Darwalis Sazan is a dedicated lecturer in Malay Linguistics at the School of Distance Education, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Malay Linguistics, which reflects her commitment to the rigorous study and advancement of the Malay language. Her areas within linguistics, are Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), Discourse Analysis, Semantics, and Content Analysis.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
Developed a strong interest in understanding how language functions as a tool of ideology, power, identity, and cultural transmission within Malaysia’s diverse and dynamic landscape. Currently examining critical discourse analysis of language, culture, and ideology in traditional Malay performances and media, multimodal discourse, ethnic representation, and socio-cultural narratives, and contributing to the advancement of Malay linguistics.
