BIOGRAPHY
Premalatha Karupiah is an associate professor of sociology at the School of Social Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang, Malaysia. She specializes in teaching research methodology and statistics. Her research focuses on beauty culture, sartorial studies, femininity, Tamil movies, and issues related to minority women in Malaysia. My work focuses on the meaning of femininity and how it influences the experiences of minority women in Malaysia. I also explore the portrayal of gender in Tamil movies.
