BIOGRAPHYI inherited my love of orchids from my late father Nordin Mansor, by watching him tending his modest collections of hybrid orchids such as Cattleyas and Dendrobiums. Then, my devotion to orchids grew throughout my graduate studies, when I had the opportunity to sight them in their natural habitat. To me, seeing a wild orchid blooming in their natural habitat is quite a sight to behold, particularly orchids in the karst hills and the highlands.
RESEARCH INTERESTSMy interest lies in the taxonomy, systematics, cytogenetics, biodiversity & conservation of the orchids. Currently, my research focuses on the diversity assessment of limestone orchids in the karst habitat throughout P. Malaysia using geospatial data. By engaging research institutes, government authorities & local communities, I embark on the conservation initiatives to protect the endemic limestone orchid species in their natural habitat.
