Asyirah was trained in planning and environmental technology from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and at present is an Associate Professor at Geography Section, School of Humanities, USM. Her research interests include urban ecology, ecosystem services assessment, circular economy and sustainable cities and communities.
