BIOGRAPHY
Professor Dr. Zainuriah Hassan’s area of expertise is wide band gap semiconductor materials and devices. She is currently an Honorary Professor at INOR, USM and was the Director of INOR in 2016 and 2018-2021. She is also currently an Honorary Adjunct Faculty at Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria. She was also formerly the Director of CRI Natural Sciences (2013-2015) and Dean (2010-2012) at the School of Physics, USM.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
1) GaN/advanced semiconductor technology. 2) Growth/deposition and characterization of wide band gap semiconductor materials, in particular III-Nitrides (GaN and related alloys), ZnO, CdS, TiO2, CdO, and other metal oxides as well as porous and nanostructured materials and devices. 3) Fabrication, characterization, and simulation/design of optoelectronic and electronic devices such as LEDs/laser, solar cells, sensors and transistors.
