BIOGRAPHY
Dr Mohd Nizam Mordi is a professor of medicinal chemistry and a university lecturer at the Centre for Drug Research (Pusat Penyelidikan Dadah dan Ubat-ubatan), Universiti Sains Malaysia. He specialises in drug discovery, synthetic chemistry, and natural product research. His scholarly contributions reflect a blend of traditional natural product research and contemporary computational methodologies.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
My research interests are in drug design and the discovery of novel therapeutic agents aimed at treating neurological disorders, cancer, bacterial infections, malaria, metabolic diseases, and pain management. We combine traditional drug discovery approaches with cutting-edge computational techniques. Our research group has contributed to the development of heterocyclic compounds with promising applications in the treatment of various diseases
