BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Amir Yunus is a university lecturer and researcher at Advanced Medical & Dental Institute (AMDI), Universiti Sains Malaysia since 2012. He completed his Ph.D. training at the Imperial College London. His research interests are in the field of molecular virology and molecular aspects of cancer. His past research interests have largely focused on the mechanisms of norovirus RNA replication.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
Dr. Amir's current research projects are largely focused on the molecular virology aspects of virus replication and pathegenesis. In particular, he is looking at the association of viruses infections with development of atherosclerosis. He is also working on regulation of cancer cells (colorectal cancer) via variety of biomolecules including miRNA. Amongst other current works is also involving isolation and classification of RSV.
