BIOGRAPHYDr. Garry Kuan is a distinguished scholar known for his expertise in music, biofeedback, and sports performance. In 2024, he was named Malaysia's Top Research Scientist, with previous accolades including the 2021 Developing Scholar Award from the International Society of Sport Psychology. He has served as General Secretary for ASPASP and ACESS, inspiring future scholars through impactful academic, musical, and community contributions.
RESEARCH INTERESTSDr. Garry Kuan's research interests focus on neurofeedback, biofeedback, and neurostimulation, enhancing mental toughness and motivation. He explores physical activity's impact on health-related quality of life and studies cognition and skills development through brain-breaks. Additionally, Dr. Kuan investigates the role of music in exercise, sports, and health, contributing to innovative solutions for mental health and resilience.
