BIOGRAPHYPrior to USM, I was an early childhood educator for 10 years. I teach child development and early childhood education courses at the Masters level. My research interests are in child development, early learning and education for the marginalised. I am trained in both quantitative (including longitudinal studies) and qualitative methods. I am passionate and committed to research that advocates better outcomes for children.
RESEARCH INTERESTSI have been involved in a lot of advocacy and community work for marginalized children, especially among the indigenous and refugee communities. Between 2019-2023, I collaborated with Oxford University, through the Global Challenges Research Fund to examine the effects of early education on refugee children in Malaysia. This study has informed much of my current work. I welcome interested international collaborators to partner with me.
