BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Azimah Binti Abd Rahman is an Associate Professor in the Geography Section of the School of Humanities at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). Her areas of expertise encompass GIS, Animal Behavior, Biogeography, Mangrove ecosystems, Migratory birds, and Fireflies with publications addressing topics such as the impact of environmental changes on migratory bird distribution and the diversity of fireflies in Malaysia.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
Dr. Azimah Abd Rahman’s research focuses on migratory birds and fireflies, strongly emphasizing habitat conservation, environmental impact assessment, and Geographic Information System (GIS) applications in ecological studies. Her work provides valuable insights into these species' behavior, distribution, and survival challenges, particularly in Malaysia’s mangrove forests, wetlands, and coastal ecosystems.
