BIOGRAPHY

A USM medical graduate in 1994 who joined the School of Medical Sciences USM in 2005 from the Ministry of Health after obtaining a Master of Community Medicine (Epidemiology & Biostatistics) in 2002. Currently Head of the Community Medicine Department. Also holds the president post of SAHABAT, an NGO affiliate of the Malaysian AIDS Council.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

Research interests are epidemiology/public health aspects of communicable diseases especially HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Zoonosis and Neglected Tropical Diseases. The next DrPH/PhD-supervision project will be on the estimation, forecasting and modelling of major communicable diseases.
