BIOGRAPHY
Hipolitus Wangge is an interdisciplinary scholar of International Relations, Comparative Politics, and History. In 2014, he was awarded the Arryman Scholarship in Comparative Politics, Northwestern University, and in 2024, he was the Southeast Asia Research Group (SEAREG) scholar, City University of Hong Kong. Before joining USM, he gained valuable experience in research and teaching; and provided consultancy services in Australia and Indonesia.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
I specialize in exploring ethno-religious nationalist conflicts across Africa, Asia, and the Pacific. My areas of focus also include comparative politics, foreign policy, social movement, civil-military relations, and indigenous politics in the Global South.
