BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Mohd Haizzan Yahaya is a Senior Lecturer in Social Work at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), with expertise in housing, urban poverty, social policy, and community welfare. He holds a PhD in Social Work from USM and has taught courses such as International Social Work, Ethics, Community Work, and Group Work. A former Visiting Scholar at Wayne State University, USA, Dr. Haizzan has published extensively on social housing, poverty, and many more
RESEARCH INTERESTS
Beyond academia, he plays active roles in community service, including as a Magistrate Advisor and Deputy Chair of the Penang Child Welfare Committee, and is a Board Director of the Asian & Pacific Association for Social Work Education (APASWE). His contributions have earned him national and international recognition, including awards for academic excellence and social engagement, and he is also known for policy advocacy, such as promoting equity
