BIOGRAPHY

I am a marine biologist and Director of CEMACS, Universiti Sains Malaysia. His work focuses on coral reef ecology, coastal ecosystem health, climate change impacts, and marine environmental assessment. He supports the development of the blue economy and serves as an MQA Assessor and a DOE Marine Ecology expert in Malaysia.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

Coral reef ecology and resilience; benthic ecology; biological oceanography; climate-change impacts on marine ecosystems; turbid-water coral reefs; marine environmental assessment; coastal ecosystem health; restoration and conservation; sustainable coastal management; ocean literacy; and blue economy development.
