BIOGRAPHY
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Mahadi Halim earned his BSc (USM, 2007), MSc with distinction (Dundee, 2008), and PhD in Physics (Dundee, 2012). He served as Senior Lecturer at USM since 2012 and became Associate Professor in 2024. From 2017–2021, he was programme manager for Applied Physics. His research focuses on semiconductor nanomaterials for sensors, solar cells, and nanolasers, with over 60 publications and 8 research grants.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
My research interests lie at the intersection of semiconductor physics, nanotechnology, and optoelectronic device engineering. I focus on the synthesis, characterization, and application of semiconductor nanomaterials—particularly ZnO and related compounds—for use in sensors, photovoltaic devices, and nanoscale lasers. My work integrates materials science with device-level implementation, aiming to bridge fundamental studies with applications.
