BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Wan Nazatul Shima Shahidan is an Associate Professor at the School of Medical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Kumamoto University, Japan, followed by a Master’s in Animal Cell Biotechnology from Universiti Putra Malaysia. She completed her Ph.D. in Medical Pharmacology at the University of Tokushima, Japan. Her specialization lies in pharmacology, with a focus on EV.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research focuses on molecular biology and pharmacology, exploring extracellular vesicles (EVs), microRNAs, saliva, natural products, and cytotoxicity. I aim to uncover EVs-mediated communication, develop non-invasive diagnostic tools, and evaluate bioactive compounds for therapeutic potential. This multidisciplinary approach advances precision medicine by bridging molecular mechanisms with innovative diagnostic and therapeutic solutions.
