BIOGRAPHY

I am working as a University Lecturer in Human Genome Centre, School of Medical Sciences since 2008. I have been appointed as the Coordinator of Human Genome Centre since 2013 till present. Currently, I am the Head of Research Cluster for Genomics & Life Sciences, School of Medical Sciences. I am also the current President of Malaysian Society of Human Genetics (MSHG).

RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research interests are mainly focusing on the molecular genetic mechanisms involved in carcinogenesis of human cancer including leukaemia, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, NPC and salivary gland tumours. My previous PhD study focused on allelic imbalance in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukaemia detected by SNPA and validated by several methods including dHPLC, quantitative Real Time PCR (qPCR) and Fluorescence in situ Hybridization (FISH).
