BIOGRAPHY

I am working as a University Lecturer in Human Genome Centre, School of Medical Sciences since 2008. I have been appointed as the Coordinator of Human Genome Centre since 2013 till 2024. I am also the current President of Malaysian Society of Human Genetics (MSHG). I have been appointed as an Ambassador for European Association for Cancer Research since 2024.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research interests are mainly focusing on the molecular genetic mechanisms involved in carcinogenesis of human particularly in leukaemia, with emphasis on telomere biology & telomerase regulation. My previous PhD study focused on allelic imbalance in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukaemia detected by SNPA array and validated by several methods including dHPLC, qPCR and Fluorescence in situ Hybridization (FISH).
