BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Yanny Marliana Baba Ismail is an active academic in Materials Engineering at the esteemed SMMRE. She is a ceramist by practice. Her expertise is in advanced materials, especially biomaterials. Petronas, Shell and ExxonMobil awarded her the Merdeka Award Grant for International Attachment, making her the USM sole recipient. She recently completed her international attachment at Nottingham Trent University and Newcastle University, UK.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

Dr. Yanny's primary research focuses on developing biomaterials for Bone Tissue Engineering applications. Her work encompasses the synthesis of ceramic nanopowders, the fabrication of 3D bone substitutes, and the characterisation of materials using various analytical tools. She has successfully transformed waste materials to create sustainable and functional materials. Dr. Yanny is deeply interested in cell culture, mainly involving stem cells.
