BIOGRAPHY
I am Head of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at USM, Chairperson of the Anesthesiology Specialty Committee (USM, UKM, UM, UIA, UPM, UiTM), and a medical lecturer and clinician. My work focuses on perioperative care, critical care medicine, and clinical research leadership. I completed a Clinical Fellowship in Intensive Care at USM in 2021.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
My main clinical and research interests in ICU and anaesthesiology include hospital-acquired infections, antibiotic therapy, and biomarkers such as procalcitonin. I have contributed to international ICU clinical trials, with publications in leading journals including Intensive Care Medicine, The Lancet Infectious Diseases, JAMA, and the BJA as a co-author, group author, and collaborator. I have graduated 15 Anaesthesiologists.
