BIOGRAPHYDr Sharifah Emilia conducts research in bone and soft tissue pathology, currently focusing on the diagnostic and molecular characterisation of liposarcoma and EBV-associated smooth muscle tumours (EBV-SMT). Her work integrates clinicopathological correlation and molecular analysis. She also champions sustainable pathology by developing eco-friendly methods for formalin-fixed specimen disposal, promoting safer and greener laboratory practices.
RESEARCH INTERESTSHer research focuses on advancing diagnostic pathology through molecular and histopathological studies of bone and soft tissue tumours. She is committed to translational research that bridges clinical practice with laboratory innovation, including the identification of diagnostic biomarkers and the application of pathology-driven approaches in personalised medicine.
